3rd World Democracy

It is good to have competition with in rank unless power politics comes into play. With power politics no one seems to stick to his objective what he uses to be. This is what politicians usually do. They are the best when they are not on treasury benches. A political party will have the best possible solution to every crisis and mismanagement if they are on opposition benches. When the same party comes into treasury benches, they seems to have no clue not even that problem but that issue too. It is a definite feature of third world democracy.

For Case Study:: Power Crisis in Pakistan.
If we look into political campaign of parties for GE-2013, the power issue was on top of every party manifesto and with several small other issues it also whip PPP in GE-2013. If we focus on current government manifesto and speeches, (although manifesto in Pak have no legal or moral value but just a tradition of democratic parties so far but speeches have some value) the time span given for resolving power crises was 6 months to 2 year which unfortunately doesn’t hold up like other promises. The current government seems to be on same track of their predecessor (scandalous power and petroleum ministries).

When Pakistan Muslim League[Nawaz] was in opposition there leadership knew every bit about that power ministry and their projects whether its Nandipur or RPP’s/IPP. From the newspapers and their sources they also knew that Pakistan People Party (govt) is awarding the contract to a blacklist company at that time which is illegal too but when opposition came into power, they not only continue with that firm but released extra funds for the project to make it one of the expensive in the world in its category and they don’t have any clue.

Another issue is importing LNG. No one in the entire country knows about the importing process or documentation or pricing except the top gun of government and bad for journalist and public that federal government doesn’t have any RTI law which anybody can be exposed. Documents and regulator says one thing and the minster says another. It seems like Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is running the ministry like unregistered single member company where he place billions rupee order on a phone call as he is answerable to no one and spending his own money not taxpayers.

I am quite sure will turn out to be the RPP of PPP tenure for PMLN as much I read about it in news and articles.

The same goes with PTI in KPK. Where they initially posted figure of 452.38 MW (quoted from PTI twitter account) which will be obtained by micro project in which most are still initiated on ground. If you go in detail of AGP report than it PTI progress in power sector is also not good.

Every political party knows the best when they are not in government.
